Children learning

Learning & Curriculum

From nursery through middle school, learning is built on curiosity, connection, and meaning.

At Kompass, learning isn’t separated from life. Children explore, question, and build understanding through relationships and real experiences.

Our programs grow with each stage of development:

Nursery Program

Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Pikler

Grounded in Montessori and responsive care, our Nursery program nurtures attachment, connection, and growing independence. Children learn through hands-on exploration in a carefully prepared environment that respects each child’s pace.

  • Trilingual immersion in German, English, and Arabic through daily routines
  • Safe, warm environment designed for early sensory and motor development
  • Focus on social-emotional foundations and self-care skills

Kindergarten Program

Project-Based Learning & Reggio Emilia Approach

Our Kindergarten uses a project-based approach where children develop through meaningful projects and questions. Learning is active, social, and connected to real contexts, building the skills and dispositions needed for school and life.

  • Inquiry-based learning that follows children’s interests and questions
  • Multilingual expression and early literacy across three languages
  • Social-emotional readiness and collaborative skill-building

Primary School

International Primary Curriculum (IPC)

Thematic, internationally benchmarked learning that develops critical thinking, creativity, and global awareness. Students make meaningful connections across subjects through engaging units of work.

  • Theme-based learning with cross-curricular connections
  • Explicit thinking skills development and reflection
  • Personal and international learning goals embedded in each unit

Middle School

International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC)

Students develop independence, critical reflection, and a deeper understanding of how subjects connect. The IMYC’s Big Idea structure supports adolescents in making sense of the world and their place in it.

  • Independent research, reflection, and self-assessment
  • Disciplinary and interdisciplinary learning linked by Big Ideas
  • Growing autonomy in learning, supported by expert mentoring

Our Approach

Trilingual Foundation

German, English, and Arabic grow naturally through daily life — not drills. Language lives in relationships, routines, and real communication from the earliest years.

Whole-Child Development

Social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth are inseparable parts of learning. We attend to the full child, not just academic outcomes.

Inquiry & Exploration

Questions drive deeper understanding. Children learn by doing, making, creating, and connecting — building knowledge that lasts.

Small Learning Communities

In small, relationally rich communities, every child is known. Learning is personal, responsive, and built on trust between children, families, and educators.
