Why Kompass

Why families choose Kompass

For the child

  • Teachers who truly know them. Small groups allow teachers to know each child’s strengths, needs, friendships, and next steps.
  • Voices are heard. Children learn to express ideas, ask questions, listen, and contribute.
  • Learning follows wonder. Inquiry connects children’s questions with language, math, science, research, and real understanding.

For parents

  • Partners, not just clients. Parents are guided through honest communication, documentation, and regular conversations.
  • A community that celebrates. Families become part of a community built on trust, belonging, and shared moments.
  • Connection before curriculum. Strong relationships create the safety children need for deep learning.

For the future

  • Lasting bonds. Children build friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging that stays with them.
  • A place to belong. Children are seen as individuals, not numbers in a system.
  • More than a school. A community where learning, relationships, responsibility, and joy grow together.
Our approach

Inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia

Children learn through prepared environments, observation, choice, dialogue, documentation, and meaningful projects.

This inspiration shapes our daily routines, our learning spaces, and the way teachers listen to children.

Assessment

Learning with depth, reflection, and meaningful feedback

Children receive feedback through observation, documentation, reflection, and clear next steps, so they understand their growth and take ownership of learning.

Learning includes strong language development, reading, writing, inquiry, math, science, projects, and reflection. This approach builds confidence and ownership for strong transitions into different school systems.

Our philosophy

More than just a curriculum

Children learn from connection—from being truly known, seen, and safe. That’s when the real magic happens.

“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.”

— John Dewey
